What Causes Severe Pain In The Lower Back?

Hi there Dr. Rynne. I am a 55 y.o. Female martial artist. For 3 weeks I have had intermittent very sore lower lright back pain. I believe it is my discs. I have taken 2 7.5 Melaxicam to relieve my pain, it hasn t helped. Could I take any Motrin now? I am a pain of 7. Never have any issues, not on any meds daily. Just need a little more relief. Oh I also took one Tylenol.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Acute muscle spasm from martial art movements.

- Local application of heating pad.
- Ibuprofen if no history of drug sensitivity.
- Local application of analgesic spray or ointments

Control of body weight and particular postural adaptations are must to be followed along with above.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
