What Causes Severe Pain In The Lower Left Abdomen And Bloating?
Hello, over the past 2 to 3 months, I have been experiencing mild to severe pain in what I would call my left ovary area. It worsens throughout the day, and especially if I laugh or cough. I sometimes feel twinges there as well. By the end of the day, the pain radiates towards my back. At night when I am in bed, I feel more pressure and a bloating feeling. I am planning to make an appointment tomorrow, but would like to have some information before I am seen as to what may be the cause.
Pain and bloating in the left side of lower abdomen for 3 months can be most probably due to colitis as per the history you have provided. Another reason can be related to hernia development or muscle spasm.
Radiation to back area indicates another reason like kidney problem or disease in thoracolumbar spine and muscle spasm.
Hence it is imperative to have a consultation, examination and relevant investigations to know the exact cause so that appropriate management can be done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant,
General Surgeon
