General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

In most cases, upper and middle back pain is caused by overuse, muscle strain, or injury to the muscles that support your spine. I suggest using a muscle relaxant such as Baclofen three times a day. I also suggest using magnesium supplements daily.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
