What Causes Severe Pain In The Middle Of The Spine?

I have a pinging/radiating type pain (not too painful) in the middle of my spine occasionally. It reminds me of the similar pains that I had before I learned that I needed to have my gall bladder removed. I am a 58 year old male, non-smoker. Good health.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are caused by excessive acid production especially gas under diaphragm. The pain is being referred to back in the middle of the spine. I would like to ask if you had any x-ray or CT scan done? Gall bladder aids in the storage of bile which helps in protein digestion, its absence would also be contributing towards it. Have less protein at one time. On a provisional basis, I would suggest you take some antacids such as Pantoprazole, less fat more fibers in food and psyllium husk.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
