What Causes Severe Pain In The Muscles During Physical Exertion?

Severe cramping and pain in not just one muscle during heavy physical labor, but all muscles. Whichever muscle is moving and stressed. It lasts for hours after physical labor. It cramps so much that when the muscle constricts the joints pop. My husband drinks plenty of water but his muscles (especially the shoulder, arm and hands) cramp so severely he is in agony.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM
I have read and understood your concern
Stress may cause the symptoms you describe. Too much work with no enough rest. However, other possible causes include metabolic/ionic imbalances like low calcium or low magnesium... I will advise the following:
-He should get enough rest
-Eat well and healthy with enough vegetable
-Pain drug like tylenol if pain intense
-Myorelaxant like miorel
If symptoms persist, he sees the Doctor for examination.
Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns
Best regards
