What Causes Severe Pain In The Neck While Having Fever?

I have been fevered for just over 2 weeks now. The back of my neck aches and occasionally a head ache accompany s the fever. I thought it was just from a stiff neck because it started in the morning and I had been sleeping with 2 pillows and figured that was the cause. It has not gotten any better or any worse, just won t go away. Please help. thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Using two pillows while sleeping has caused a muscular strain. You can take muscle relaxants like Tizanidine and Analgesic like Advil to relax the muscles and relieve the pain and inflammation. Do hot fomentation with a hot water bottle. If the things do not improve, see your clinician as you may need physical therapy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
