HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
It is possible that the pain may be neurological in origin, this is called neuropathic (nerve related) pain.
It can be temporary or permanent and there are different possible causes such as: (1)
vitamin b12 or
folate deficiency
(2)trauma to the nerves supplying this area eg
arthritis of the back can affect the nerves coming out to the leg
(3)diabetes
(4)side effect of medication
(5)liver or kidney disease
(6)neurological conditions such as
stroke or ms
(7)exposure to toxins
(8)idiopathic- cause not known
If it continues then you should consider seeing your doctor for an assessment to find the cause.
This would include physical examination, blood tests and possibly imaging (eg x ray of the back ), to find the cause
There are medications that can help with
neuropathic pain if needed. These would need to be prescribed.
I hope this helps
