What Causes Severe Pain In The Shoulder While On Xarelto?

88 y.o. F dx: Afib recently w/ Xarelto prescribed. After 2-3 wks RX, c/o excruciating deep shoulder pain not relieved w/ regular dosing Tylenol. Erroneously prescribed Lidocaine patch which pharmacist denied d/t interaction. Family has d/c ed Xarelto x 2 days; requesting advise..... Thank you for prompt reply

Hello,

Xarelto may cause muscle pain in a few patients but it isn't common.

The
most common side effect is bleeding tendency. You may use tablet Tramadol twice a day for five days.

If symptoms don't improve, please consult your physician, he will examine and treat you with alternate medication.
