What Causes Severe Pain In The Throat While Swallowing?

On Friday morning I woke up with a really painful throat on my right hand side and it felt like something was in my throat where the pain is when I swallowed and it hurt to swallow and I had difficulty swallowing. As well as this I ve been getting headaches and on the side of my throat where the pain is I can feel a lump on the outside of my throat and it hurts to touch. I also feel dizzy and warm. It s the day after so Saturday but the lump in my throat seems to have increased and it feels like I m inside there is something on it and it feels bigger. I was wondering what this may be

Hello,

The throat ache and also a lump outside the throat in the neck may be related to tonsillitis or strep throat.

You may need to do a throat swap.

You may need to take antibiotics.
