Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a history of chronic pancreatitis. I have been in horrible pain for the past 3 days in my upper abdomen. I have had light colored greasy stools for the past 5 days. I have vomitted a couple times. My stomach feels really bloated. My urine is really dark even though all i drink is water all day. I have been itching for days all over my body. I went to my GI doctor. They did blood work, urinalysis and a CT scan and said everything came back normal. What else can we do. Something is causing all these symptoms and making me absolutely miserable. Help!
What about your serum amylase and lipase reports? What about the upper GI endoscopy report? Even acute pancreatitis within 24-48 hours, you won't get anything by CT abdomen.
Possible causes like pancreatitis or pyelonephritis or urinary tract infection or gastritis or peptic ulcer disease or cholecystitis etcetera. Until the complete examination, it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your surgeon he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
