What Causes Severe Pain In The Upper And Lower Back?

Iam 30 yr old woman. woke up this morning with horrible upper and lower back pains, slight chest and arm pain. It s been about 6 hours of this pain, not moving, laying in bed with pillows prompted. I have shortness of breathe. Cant sit up, walk without screaming in pain and without someones help. Iam starting to get really scared. It s getting worse. I don t know what this is? do I have to go to the ER?

Hello,

It may be due to muscle sprain.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Restrict your movements.

In case of not getting relief you may require MRI back after orthopedician consultation
