What Causes Severe Pain In Tonsil Along With Difficulty In Swallowing?

Ever since I had oral sex a few weeks ago I have been diagnosed with Trichomanisos and have been treated for it just this past week, but my throat has been aching , super sore when I swallow , is painful to swallow, I just looked at my throat and tonsils under a light and noticed that there is one the right side of the tonsil odd looking with a bloody line through it and it is purple and white looking and It has made my whole neck sore now.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Throat swab culture may be needed with gram staining as well as cultures and sensitivity. However using oral.anti histamines like Cetirizine as well as anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen can be of help. Antibiotics like Doxycycline may also be needed if symptoms persist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
