What Causes Severe Pain On The Back While Deep Breathing?

Im having sporadic, but gripping sharp pain across my mid back. does not occur when i take deep breaths. does not occur when i move generally. not a dull pain. not a constant pain. it seems worse when i bend backwards into that back area space. the pain definitely radiates across my rib cage and around to the sides.

Hello,

I would like to suggest some tests:

1. Complete Blood Count including sodium level, calcium level, potassium level.
2. Chest X-Ray
3. ECG
4. Electromyography of the back muscle.

I would also like to ask you:

1. Is there difficulty in breathing?
2. Is there pain during resting or when you are sitting still?
3. Is there pain during eating?
4. Are there any other symptoms like cough, fever, pain in other areas especially joints?

Meanwhile, if there too much pain, you can take Paracetamol. You can also take muscle relaxants.

Include vegetables in your diet. Drink water adequately. Do not drink alcohol.
