What Causes Severe Pain On The Lower Abdomen?

I have had dull aching upper abdominal pains for few days but today the pain is becoming more severe and concentrated in middle/upper area, normal pain relief is not working at all. I am 2 days into my period which appears to be normal and I had copper IUD fitted approximately 6 months ago.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult a general surgeon and plan for an ultrasound scan to rule out possible causes like renal colic.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
