What Causes Severe Pain Under The Ribcage Radiating To The Back?

How would I know,if I have pancreatitis? Tonight after I ate the pain under my left rib cage was very severe all the way through to my back. Lasted about 30 minutes. Other times the pain starts and is very severe until I vomit. Then the pain goes away. I have been seeing a gastro Dr, for 20 years, No one seems to know what the problem is. Can you?

Hello,

It can be pancreatitis and you should do amylase and lipase levels on blood. Do also an abdominal ultrasound to get checked.
