What Causes Severe Pain With Swelling And Redness In The Leg?

I am 62, in excellent health. I walk for exercise 4 days a week, approx. 5 miles. I work on my feet as a critical care nurse. I ve never had leg pain or anything like this. A week ago, I started having pain between my shin and my ankle, anterior, lateral. There is now some swelling and redness. It is very painful when I walk, but also painful during the night when I am lying in bed.

* Most possible developing inflammation at the leg part as there is swelling, redness and pain.
* Strongly recommended for
- ice application
- food elevation
- prescription of antibiotic ( as cephalosporin group ) , anti - inflammatory drugs to recover faster
- keep blood sugar under precise control.
