My 60 year old brother has SEVERE peeling on both palms, and must use ice packs at night to control the seering pain in both hands. (He has tried many different pain meds, but he says the pain never goes away, and he dislikes the side effects of the pain meds. He also has asthma which seems to worsen with his hands worsening. He has had numerous bouts with cellulitiis. He now has Diabetes 2. He has tried many medications (including steroids) and PUVA treatment for hands, but no improvement over the past 2 years. He has been seen by some of the world s best physicians......but his condition has shown no improvement. Any way for me to attach a picture to show the problem? Any thoughts/suggestions?
It may be skin peeling syndrome. I would recommend applying moisturiser cream containing urea twice a day. Tell your brother to avoid contact with soap and detergent. Do not rupture the peeling skin. It may be cut by scissor. Give him tab vitamin C, cap vitamin A and cap vitamin E for a long time. After a long time, it may be recovered.
