What Causes Severe Rashes In Infants?

My child is experiencing a terrible red rash that started on his cheeks and is moving down his body ever since the benedryl. It has has been over a week and he still has a terrible red rash down his arms, legs, and stomach that is hot to the touch and there is swelling. The doctor said it could be an allergic reaction from the antibiotic he was on for 8 days. He has been off the antibiotic for 4 days now and still has the rash, swelling and hot to the touch. Could it be something else? Could this be a virus?

Hi thanks for choosing HCM,
No doubt, Red rash is due allergic phenomena.
it may be due to drugs, infection, exo allergens or insect bite.
Due to drugs...only burning, mild itching.
infection....fever with burning sensation.
