What Causes Severe Redness In The Eyes , Irregular Menstruation , Nausea And Vomiting?
Yes, I am 50 year old white woman. I have been experiencing bouts of nausea where i will throw up. Its been happening off and on for about a year. I do not have a fever when this happens. I have irregular periods. I can't stay asleep at night, even when I take ambien. My eyes seem to be very bloodshot from time to time. I am boated more than I have ever been. I am otherwise in good shape and was working out all of the time. Seem to be having "hot flashes." I presume it maybe perimenopausal but some of the symptoms really concern me. I have been drinking more than usual.
General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
HI, I understand your concern. Your symptoms are combination of pre menopause( irregular periods, hot flushes, probably anxiety) & gastritis/ liver problem following increased intake of alcohol. The redness of eyes can be atributed to raised intra ocular pressure with a bout of vomiting. You should stop alcohol & consult a gastroenterologist, get investigated & start with specific treatment. Thanks.
