What Causes Severe Redness On Face After Excess Alcohol Intake?

My 50 yr old brother drinks a lot at night, he always has a very red face and his nose is looking purple, also he feels like his skin on his face feels Sunburnt yet it s not. Very worried about him. Could you tell me what you think is happening to him please? Thank you,

Hello dear
Understand your concern
Severe redness is sign of alcohol abuse.
Only prevention is do not drink alcohol.
It is common problem seen in 40 % people who are alcohol abuse.

It is due to vasomotor dysregulation and acetaldehyde that produce during alcohol metabolism which produce histamine and also produce flushing.
Genetic factor like ALDH2 homozygous or trait may ply important role.

Avoid alcohol as much you can
Consult the psychiatric
