What Causes Severe Sore Throat, Aches All Over Body And Tender Neck?

my 21 year old son, has a severe sore throat, aches all over his body, and his glands in his neck are very tender. The back of his neck is also very tender. He does not have a fever. He said his face feels hot. He was sick earlier in the week with a bad sore throat and ached all over. But again, no fever.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe sore throat, aches all over body and tender neck which is mainly because of pharyngitis or upper respiratory tract infection. You should take combination of Ibuprofen and Azithromycin. Do warm saline gargles. Maintain proper oral hygiene. Avoid oily and fried food. You should not take carbonated beverages. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Go for blood tests to detect level of infection. Take warm milk with a small amount of tumeric at bed side.
