Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is having severe neck spasms. He has never had anything like this before that lasted all day. He has tried some analgesic this morning, heat, ice, etc. At 4PM, he took 5 mg of Diazepam that was ordered for muscle spasms from his back surgery. At 8:45 PM, he took 10mg of Diazepam, still with little relief. Upon any movement he gets spasms to the left side of his neck with no radiation. Can I give him a Hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325 to supplement the diazepam?

What Causes Severe Spasms In The Neck?
Hi, It could be due to spine related problems. Consult an orthopedician and get an MRI neck. As of now, you can try muscle relaxants like Baclofen for symptomatic relief. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
