General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history of taking extremely spicy food 5 hours ago, developed gases, burped followed by severe pain in abdomen. Spicy food alone will cause severe gastritis and thus burning sensation in stomach and vomiting. Gases and severe pain is indicative of the following. Gastritis for sure.

It is possible that either there is intolerance to the foods or intestinal infection. I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Take a PPI like Omeprazole.
Antacid every three hours.
Domperidone if there is nausea or vomiting.

Watch for further symptoms like bloating, chills fever, body ache suggestive of intestinal infection and if present then go for clinical evaluation by a Doctor and get treated with prescription based antibiotic, symptomatic and supportive management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
