What Causes Severe Stomach Pain That Increases Upon Movement?

My daughter just phoned me saying that she had been to the emergency room with severe stomach pains. She told me it doesn t get better or worse if she eats, she is not nauseous and has no diarrhea but the pain increases if she moves or presses the area. The doctor at the hospital said he found nothing wrong and sent her home with Prilosec. I have a history of PE. Could these symptoms be a PE?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, I really appreciate your concern. Most common cause of severe stomach pain are gastritis and esophageal reflux disease. Sometimes the pain appears acutely without nausea and association with meals. This type of pain is usually not associated with pulmonary embolism. So don't worry. She'll be ok with regular Prilosec.
Hope my answer has solved your query. Take Care.
Thank you.
