What Causes Severe Stomach Pain When I Lay Down?

I have had stomach pains for 2 days now and the have only gotten worse. As of right my stomach is barely but last night I had unbarely pain and it would only go away once I laid down...and it was barely once I was laying on my stomach. The pain is from my lower abdomen up to the middle of my chest. I also feel the pain in my lower back all the way up to my shoulders. The first day I had thought I had gas but I never passed gas. I have made the connection it occurs after coming in from the cold or being out in the cold. Is there a way to avoid this?
