What Causes Severe Sweating Along With Intolerance To Heat?
I have autoimmune thyroid deficiency. I sweat severely----am totally heat intolerant. It doesn t seem to make a difference if my thyroid function test is Ok or not. What is going on ??? Am I allergic to the drug???? My Dr. has recently switched me to Synthroid rather then a generic, thinking this would help. It hasn t.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Intolerance to extremes of temperatures is seen in hypothyroidism. Autoimmune thyroid deficiency is characterized by hypothyroidism and thus this is the most probable cause of intolerance to heat. Correction of thyroid function tests after appropriate treatment will help to resolve the symptoms of hypothyroidism. Thyroxine is given to treat the condition and synthyroid is a synthetic preparation of thyroxine.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
