What Causes Severe Sweating And Ear Pain In A Child?

Hi, I went to the doctors Monday my daughter had pain in ear and temp of 38.5 was very sleepy and a bit delirious ... I was sent away saying no sign of ear infection and throat slightly red but not enough for antibiotics ... So have been treating her regularly with calpol / ibuprofen but nothing keeps her temp at night she wakes drenched in sweat and with pain in ear but only for short period time the pain goes away ... She has cough too shall I go back to see if I can get antibiotics?
