What Causes Severe Swelling And Pain In Toes?

Hi, I currently have a boot for my left leg, I broke my fibula, tibia, and ankle in May, had surgery the end of May. But tonight I noticed that both feet have swollen toes,mainly the second toe, it s itchy swollen and I m in pain. I also have a metal plate in my left leg and screws. I don t know why it s swollen but it hurts. Do you know what it could possibly be?

I really appreciate your concern, with orthopedic injury such swelling is pretty likely and it could be due diffused soft tissue injure and inflammatory process care need to be taken for this, till then keep the leg in elevated position and "Tab Ibuprofen" can be tried hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
