What Causes Severe Swelling And Pain On One Side Of Face Post Double Jaw Surgery?

I have recently had double jaw surgery and was discharged home with paracetamol, ibuprofen and cholotexidene. I was re-admitted with severe swelling and pain on one side. I found out that I should have been given diflophenic to take at home on discharge. A scan has now shown a haematomor and while in hospital I have been given antibiotics, diflophenic and strong pain killers intravenously. Would the diflophenic have prevented this?

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The swelling and pain can be because of the hematoma or infected hematoma. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral and maxillofacial surgeon and get it evaluated. Mean while you can give alternative cold and hot fomentation over the swelling. You can take antiinflammatory drugs like serratiopeptidase which reduces the swelling. Diclofenac has nothing to do with hematoma. It can reduce the pain.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
