What Causes Severe Swelling In Legs While Suffering From Advance Level Of Kidney Cancer?

Hi, my brother has stage 4 advanced kidney cancer. He is currently taking the 3rd type of chemo pills called , I think, which at the beginning helped the severe swelling in his legs from his groin area down to this feet somewhat get better so he could at least walk a bit more on his own without use of cane. But the past three weeks the swelling is back and his legs are absolutely huge and so heavy for his small frame to walk........what causes this and what can be done to help? We have tried over the counter dieretics and they did nothing..........his oncologist isn t being very helpful in this area either.........what do you suggest if anything

Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your brother's symptom of recurrent leg swelling following a diagnosis of kidney cancer I will suggest the major cause is lymphatic obstruction with possible peripheral vascular resistance by the tumor cells

In view of this please do a CT scan of the leg and peripheral angiography test

Schedule an appointment with another oncologist specialist for further clinical assessment and adequate drug prescription
