What Causes Severe Swelling In The Neck, Constant Headache And Itchy Scalp?
69 year old male developed swelling in neck 7 days ago with what looked like eye infection. Constant headache, itchy scalp. Tonight has flushed face and now rash on chest and back with few spots on legs. Dr treating him for infection with Bactrim. Hasn t been in sun so rash cant be a reaction to Bactrim which he has been on for 6 days. Any thoughts on cause?
First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, it is can be a systemic infection as this rash doesn't seem to be only due to skin related issues.
However, detailed dermatologist review is recommended. Baseline blood work up should also be done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
