What Causes Severe Thirst Along With Frequent Urination?

My grandson is 17 and has been experiencing being quite thirsty and urinating a lot. I am a diabetic and so is his mother. She tested his blood just now and it is 23.5. She wants to know if she should take him to emergency now or can it wait until the morning

Hi.

It would be wise to take him now, but if at all you do not have the means then report in the morning. But as you must already know, an elaborate diabetic profile is mandatory at this juncture and initiation of treatment as soon as a diagnosis is established.

Best wishes.
