What Causes Severe Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Misoprostol?

Hello Dr. Nirja Chawla . This is Ritu , I am 40 yrs old and as per my doctors advice I have taken 3 pills of misoprost 200mg for abortion. This is after the doctor analyzing my scan of 6 weeks of pregnancy. The first day I have seen bleeding with lots of pain , but after that I have seen it dropping below the normal levels. I want your advice to check if I should continue the tablets for couple of more days before I go for another scanning . Please advise me….

Hello,

Usually, we do not recommend to use Misoprostol for more than 3 pills; they are enough to cause abortion at your pregnancy age. I am sorry to get to know you missed this baby, that's pity for him and you.

However, that's your decision. Once again, do not use more pills, they are enough. Please take preventive measures next time to avoid killing another human being.
