What Causes Severe Vaginal Bleeding During Pregnancy?
I am weeks pregnant and have bleeding with menstrual like cramps, not severe like labor but bad enough for me to be concerned. I have 5 children and have not had this problem previously. I was seen in ER last evening and a gestational sac was seen with normal fetal growth so far. but today my bleeding has increased, not enough to soak a pad but again enough to make me concerned. hcg was 2448 and slightly anemic. I was told by a friend that wild yam root and cramp bark might help these symptoms. any suggestions. and yes I know I need to consult my regular dr. but they treat me like I shouldn t be concerned.
Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion the bleeding during pregnancy might be due to many causes like cervical bleeding due to polyps, varicosities, erosion, increased blood supply to cervix, low lying placenta, hormonal abnormalities like progesterone insufficiency or thyroid abnormalities. So if the ultrasound is normal you need not worry. It might be cervical bleeding. The medicines to control bleeding might be taken as suggested by your doctor.I also suggest you to get thyroid hormone evaluation done.Avoid stress and physical strain and intercourse. BEST REGARDS...DR.SRILATHA
