What Causes Severe Vaginal Bleeding?

Couple of weeks ago I went from a sitting position to standing up and out of no where I had severe vaginal bleeding it was like I peed my pants it was going down my leg into my shoe and I never have bad bleeding. it has yet to stop. its lightened up a bit for a while and then got heavy again. Any suggestions as to what could be causing this.

What you describe could be Dysmenorrhea or Menorrhagia. If you have irregular menses(periods) it could mean a hormonal imbalance, particularly get thyroid checked; whereas if you had it for the first time and it has not stopped it could also mean an internal problem depending on how many days your menses last and how often you get them usually, or whether this bleeding is/not associated with your menses.
