What Causes Severe Vomiting After A Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy Surgery?
Good Evening- I am hoping to get clarification a few things. After laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery, is it typical to experience vomiting day of surgery that has continued into 3+ days following? The vomiting occurs every 1.5-2 hrs, yellowish in color, runny and moderate to minimal amount. Swelling of the face, hands and body? Cat scans, MRI s and other tests have been completed, can t determine what seems to be causing these complications. IV antibiotics have been administered, stronger pain medication and a few other inter-venous medications. Are these symptoms normal? Thank you in advance for your time. Alexis St. George
It can happen after major surgery. As a first line management you can take antiemetic like domeperidone for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persists to consult a physician and get evaluated.
