Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I woke to find that all 5 digits of my left hand are unable to straighten. Too weak. I have a claw I can close with some strength, but not open. Full sensation, no pain. I am a 64-year-old paraplegic (tethered cord syndrome) and chronic pain patient (following 4 surgeries in 6 months) working successfully to cut my meds way down. I m still working as a writer -- that is, I was, till now. I m a mite terrified. It s not Guillan-Barre, as my dominant right hand is unaffected. Help?!

What Causes Severe Weakness In The Left Hand?
Hello, It is due to cervical strain. You should avoid excessive head flexing while typing and take any over-the-counter Neurotonic drug. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Varinder Joshi
