What Causes Severely Chapped Lips With Swelling And Redness?

Hi, I am experiencing chapped, swollen, itchy and burning lips for the past 3 months off and on. In the past two weeks, it s been getting worst and I can t go without Vaseline or lip balm on my lips. I thought it was an allergic reaction to eating to much ham for Thanksgiving because my whole body felt swollen. The rest of me is fine now, except for my lips. What is it and what can I do?

You are suffering from cheilitis there are many causes for this condition mostly occurs as an allergic response to some allergen or infection of fungal or bacterial origin. I advise you to use 'Aquaphor Cream' or any thick emollients and rule out fungal or bacterial cause by visiting a dermatologist.
