What Causes Sharp And Constant Pain In The Right Abdominal Area?

I am experiencing sharp, not constant pain, for about 12 hours in the right abdomen, my husband wants me to go to the ER I want to wait and see. It feels like it would feel better if I had a bowl movement. Can I just wait and see if it feels better tomorrow?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

We have to rule out possible causes like renal stones.

As of now you can take drugs like tramadol for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a general surgeon and plan for an ultrasound scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
