What Causes Sharp Left Sided Pain In The Waist With History Of Fibromyalgia?

I have had back pain at the L waistline. I have asked 4 different and got different answers. My last visit my MD gave me a shot but it didn t do anything. He thinks it s my Fibro but I have had that for 23 years and have never experienced pain this bad. It s hard to walk because I feel like there is a knife stabbing me. Today it feels like a web of pain. No pain meds work so I m lost but getting a little scared now that the pain is getting worse.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, most likely issue of sharp left sided pain in the waist with knife stabbing character is calculus in the urinary system as kidney or ureter. Kindly get an ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis in this regard for best possible evaluation and further guidelines of management accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
