What Causes Sharp Lower Back Pain?

I have been experiencing sometime excruciating pain in my lower left back. I first, I thought it was muscle, but now I m staring to think that its internal. Its hurts mostly when I move or twist my torso. What could possibly be other reasons? I have not experienced any problems with nausea, urination or other symptoms, but it does seem to hurt more if I exhaled strongly.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
it appears to be sciatica, is the pain radiating to your thighs...can also be following a disc prolapse( slipping of the disc between the vertebrae) ,an X-ray would be helpful.
