What Causes Sharp Pain And Swelling In Forearm After Stretching?

My grandfather recently was playing golf and after hitting a shot complained of intense pain in his arm. After a couple of days it got swollen and there appears to be bruising over his arm. He still complains of sharp pains in his forearm. My question is: did he fracture or break his arm?

Welcome at HCM
I have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns...
can you move your wrist? Can you make a fist? Based upon the history you have provided it appears to be muscular overstretch with probable some intramuscular bleed.... There is no point in history that points towards fracture...get an x ray of arm to be sure!!
In my opinion he should take rest and apply ice to it. Try not to move this arm too much and use painkillers to relieve pain...
If it doesn't settle in w week and if he feel some tightness from inside and it become hot and tender then immediately consult orthopedic surgeon....
Hope your query is adequately addressed
