What Causes Sharp Pain At The Incision Site Of A Tubal Ligation Surgery?
Hi! I had a tubal ligation almost three weeks ago. I am still experiencing stabbing pain at the upper incision site (intermittent, lasting a few seconds at a time) and general dull pain in the upper abdomen that can last an hour or more. Could these be caused by complications from surgery?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. It cannot be concluded that the pain you are experiencing as a complication of surgery. Since, tubal ligation is a minor procedure, it could have happened to you that the pain could be caused due to some fluid collection or abscess or persistent inflammation. Kindly get an ultrasound scan of abdomen done to note what could be the cause. In case, it is abscess or fluid collection, it needs to be drained. In case it is caused due to inflammation, then you need to be treated with a course of antibiotics and analgesics. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
