What Causes Sharp Pain From The Small Finger To The Wrist?

I have sharp pain along the right side of my right hand extending from below the pinky finger to the wrist. I have been wearing a wrist bandage at night and when doing activities and have temporarily stopped playing golf but it does not seem to be getting better. I am taking Alleve. I have follow up doctor appointment in two weeks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a pinched nerve. I suggest using Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest using cold compresses for local relief and maintain the area immobilized.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
