What Causes Sharp Pain From Thumb To Wrist?

Hi, im a 16 year old girl and I have this sharp pain that runs from the base of my thumb down into my wrist and i dont know what it is. I have no recent trauma or injury to the area and it is not swollen. It only hurts when i move it or angle it any way except straight. Any ideas?
