What Causes Sharp Pain In Abdomen Post Vaginal Hysterectomy?

I had a vaginal hysterectomy 4-1/2 weeks ago with no complications (except a slight belly button infection), but now I have a sharp pain (on and off) in my left abdomen, slight above the belly button and 2 to the left, that comes and goes but is uncomfortable. No bleeding, but could I have done something while exercising like split a stitch or ?? I have been working out mildly for about a week now, mostly walking and some stretching.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The sharp pain in abdomen after 1 month of vaginal hysterectomy and that also involving left side may be in relation with possible collection involving left cul-de-sac, issue with left ovary (if left inside) or else. Though primary relief with antispasmodic as dicyclomine or drotaverine are best proven strategy, I would suggest to get an ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis for the final diagnosis and further management guidelines.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
