What Causes Sharp Pain In Body While Taking Breath?

Every time I breathe in, I feel a very sharp, stinging pain throughout my body. It causes me to not be able to move and it affects my spine, back, ribs, lungs, and the back of my neck. I live in a rural community so I do not have access to fancy medicine. I do not have a general doctor in my location either.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It can be due to costochondral muscles or back muscles and may resolve with supportive therapy like acetaminophen or ibuprofen which are available OTC. Meanwhile, warm compresses, avoiding cold exposure may help, but if signs persist may need work up for any lower respiratory tract infection by going to a health facility.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
