What Causes Sharp Pain In Ear And Cough?

I have been having severe alerergies for awhile now. Last Feb I even had to have vocal cord surgery and my voice still is not right due to the drainage and coughing it invoves.
About a week and a half ago i went to my general practitional and he had me get back on alot of my old otc meds looked in my nose ears and throat. He found nothing wrong. since i have seen him my ear has killed me. It really hurts I have sharp pains, shooting pains and throbbing pains. My allergies flare. I do have fibromyalgia, but this is so not relate.
