What Causes Sharp Pain In Left Foot While Walking?
Hi, I have sharp pain on the bottom of my left foot. It is located more towards the outside arch. It has been painful for about four days. It doesn t interfere with walking, but hurts or feels like it is stretching when I walk, like tight skin. When I am sitting or off of it, the pain is shooting. I would rate the pain at its worse at a 7.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to plantar fascitis. Applying ice pack on bottom of foot and taking over the counter NSAIDs like ibuprofen ( motrin ) will be helpful to get relief from this. Using shoes with proper arch support will be helpful get rid off this. You can also use appropriate insole cushions. Stretching exercises for plantar fascia is also good. If these are not helping then consult an orthopedician and have an X ray to rule out any possibility of bone spurs. Orthopedician might give you local corticosteroid injections also.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
