What Causes Sharp Pain In My Shoulder During Menstruation?

Hi Doc,
Every time I have my Periods I experience a very sharp pain on my right hand shoulder, it sometimes incapacitates me and i sometimes do have very sleepless nights.The pains never seem to subside. Secondly they occur when I am ovulating it goes on and on. Doctor I have taken all painkillers and guess what I think I live on painkillers.
Before i forget at the moment my left shoulder at the point of the joint is swollen soft and painful I will be ovulating tomorrow.
